Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing profile, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, with AUSTRALIA 2008 continuing along the right. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by two decorative dots, all set against a deeply mirrored proof field.
