| Obverse description | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend encircling the field reads 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' above, with the denomination '1 DOLLAR', weight, fineness '9999 SILVER', and date '2019' positioned in the lower portion of the field. The initials 'IRB' appear below the queen's truncation, attributing the portrait to its sculptor. |

Australia's Lunar Series II ran from 2008 through 2019, with the Pig closing out the twelve-year cycle. Perth had already completed an earlier lunar series ending in 2007, making 2019 the second time the mint produced a Year of the Pig silver dollar — a continuity that gives long-running type collectors a natural terminus to chase. Mintage on the one-ounce issues in this series was capped at 300,000 pieces, though final release figures for the Pig came in well below that ceiling.
