Reverse description The reverse design by P. J. Lynch depicts two golden snub-nosed monkeys seated on a leafy branch: a larger adult monkey to the left faces right, while a smaller juvenile monkey to the right holds a peach and faces the adult. The Chinese character 猴 (monkey) appears prominently in the upper field above the figures. The Perth Mint's P mintmark is situated to the left of the branch, with the engraver's initials IJ to the right. The curved inscription YEAR OF THE MONKEY runs along the lower portion of the field in a flowing script style.
