Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, faces right in right profile, wearing a tiara and a light drapery at the shoulder. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs above and AUSTRALIA arcs to the right across the upper field. Inscriptions in the lower field read 1OZ 999 SILVER to the left and 1 DOLLAR to the right, with the date 2013 along the lower rim. A central circular aperture set into the lower portion of the coin contains genuine loose garnet chips encased beneath a transparent dome, serving as a focal design element.
