| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely engraved three-quarter facing portrait of an elderly First World War Australian soldier, depicted wearing the iconic broad-brimmed slouch hat adorned with the Rising Sun badge and a chinstrap, and a military tunic bearing Australian collar badges. The denomination 1 DOLLAR appears to the lower left of the field. The commemorative legend THE LAST ANZACS arcs along the right inner border, set in bold incuse lettering against the mirror-polished background. The composition, designed by Wojciech Pietranik, pays solemn tribute to the last surviving veterans of the Gallipoli campaign. |
