| Additional information |
The Great Aussie Coin Hunt, launched by the Royal Australian Mint in 2019, was a circulation campaign built around 26 alphabet-themed one-dollar coins — each letter paired with an Australian cultural reference. "O" stood for "Outback." The campaign was explicitly designed to revive public engagement with coinage at a time when cash transactions in Australia had fallen below 30% of all payments for the first time.
This silver proof is the collector parallel to a coin that also entered general circulation in base metal. KM#3642a distinguishes the .999 silver strike from its aluminium-bronze counterpart.
