Additional information

The Great Aussie Coin Hunt was a circulation promotion run by the Royal Australian Mint in 2019, releasing 26 lettered dollars — one for each letter of the alphabet — into general circulation through Woolworths supermarkets and Australia Post outlets. Each letter corresponded to an Australian noun, and the campaign was deliberately designed to drive hoarding behaviour, which it did with considerable success. Secondary market premiums for scarcer letters appeared almost immediately after release.

The distribution was never perfectly even across all 26 letters, and certain issues reached circulation in notably lower volumes depending on release timing and regional availability.
