| Reverse description | A rearing Australian Stock Horse rendered in high relief with selective black rhodium plating, depicted in left profile with its mane flowing dramatically. The background features a pastoral rural scene with post-and-rail fencing, native grasses, and eucalyptus trees in the middle distance, with a water trough visible to the left. The legend THE AUSTRALIAN STOCK HORSE arcs along the upper periphery, the Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the lower right, and the inscription 2013 1oz 999 SILVER is placed along the lower exergue. |

The Australian Stock Horse breed traces directly to the horses imported for the New South Wales Corps in the early colonial period, later shaped by remount programs during the Boer War and both World Wars — animals bred for endurance over speed, capable of covering rough inland terrain that would destroy a thoroughbred. Perth Mint's bullion series has frequently drawn on Australian agricultural heritage, but the Stock Horse release found a notably receptive secondary market among collectors already deep in the two-ounce and ten-ounce variants issued alongside it.
The .999 fine series began in 2012 with the Kookaburra transitioning out; this horse issue was part of Perth's strategy to diversify away from wildlife themes.
