| Obverse description | Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and neckline truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field, with AUSTRALIA along the upper right, and the date 2006 below. The engraver's initials IRB appear on the truncation of the neck. The overall design follows Ian Rank-Broadley's authoritative portrait adopted for Australian coinage from 1999. |
