Reverse description The central field features an elaborate gold-plated Maori-inspired sun motif, its radiating pointed rays rendered in traditional koru and whakairo (Maori carving) patterns. Overlaid across the central design is a taiaha — a traditional Maori weapon — depicted in silver tone, crossing diagonally through the composition. The entire central device is encircled by a decorative border incorporating interlaced Maori scroll ornamentation. The denomination 'TAHI TARA' arcs along the upper border and 'ONE DOLLAR' along the lower, both in the left and right fields respectively.
