Obverse description Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the George IV State Diadem, rendered in fine detail by engraver Ian Rank-Broadley. The truncation of the neck is bare, and the engraver's initials 'IRB' appear at the lower left of the bust. The legend 'NEW ZEALAND' arcs along the left field, 'ELIZABETH II' along the upper right, and the date '2008' is positioned at the bottom of the field. The proof finish produces a deeply mirrored background contrasting with frosted relief on the portrait.
