Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, depicted as a right-facing draped bust with neatly coiffed hair and wearing a pearl necklace and drop earring. The portrait is rendered with fine detail against a deeply mirrored proof field, with a beaded inner border encircling the design. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery and D•G•REGINA along the upper right. A small designer's mark appears at the base of the truncation, and the Royal Canadian Mint's privy mark is present at the bottom of the inner field.
