The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The legend ELIZABETH II · AUSTRALIA 2011 curves around the upper periphery, flanked by raised dots, while the denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed along the lower periphery.

Reverse description The central device displays the official badge of the Royal Australian Navy: an anchor entwined with a foul chain and fouled rope, encircled by a rope ring inscribed ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY, the whole surmounted by a St Edward's Crown. A six-pointed star appears at the base of the badge. The legend ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY curves along the upper periphery, and the commemorative inscription 100 YEARS 1911 – 2011 is positioned along the lower periphery. The Perth Mint mintmark P appears to the left of the central device.
