| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, facing right and wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with exceptional detail in the hair and crown. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, while AUSTRALIA and the date 2001 appear along the right. The engraver's initials IRB are incuse on the truncation of the effigy. |
