Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, facing right, rendered in finely detailed relief by engraver Ian Rank-Broadley. The Queen is depicted with elaborately coiffed hair surmounted by a tiara, wearing drop earrings and a necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left field, while AUSTRALIA and the date 2019 appear along the right and lower right periphery respectively. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small letters below the Queen's truncation. The design is struck to proof-like quality with deeply mirrored fields contrasting the frosted portrait.
