Additional information

The "Masterpieces in Silver" program was the Royal Australian Mint's answer to a collector market increasingly dominated by Perth Mint releases — an attempt to reclaim prestige ground on home turf. The Five Kangaroos design has a longer commercial history than most realize, having originated as a bullion reverse before being adapted repeatedly for collector issues throughout the late 1990s and into the 2000s.

KM# 700 is one of several distinct releases sharing near-identical specifications from this period, making accurate attribution dependent on packaging provenance.
