The animal is rendered with exceptional sculptural detail, conveying texture in the fur and a sense of quiet alertness. The legend 'AUSTRALIAN KOALA' arcs across the upper field, while the inscription '2013 1oz 999 SILVER' appears in the lower exergue. The small 'P' mintmark for the Perth Mint is visible in the lower right field.
