Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed, high-relief depiction of a red kangaroo in mid-bound, its powerful hind legs extended and tail sweeping behind, set against a deeply mirrored proof field. The animal is rendered in exceptional sculptural detail, its musculature and fur texture fully realised, and it is grounded by a bed of native Australian scrub and low-lying foliage. The legend AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO curves along the upper periphery in bold capital letters, while the inscription 2017 1oz 999 SILVER is positioned in the lower field. The Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the lower left of the kangaroo. The design is attributed to Stuart Devlin and showcases the technical mastery characteristic of the Perth Mint's high-relief proof coinage.
