| Obverse description | Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs across the upper field, 'AUSTRALIA' descends along the right, and '1 DOLLAR' appears in the lower field. The engraver's initials 'IRB' are incused below the truncation of the neck. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

| Additional information |
Part of Perth Mint's long-running Australian Sled Dogs series, this issue was among the first in the program to incorporate pad printing — a technique borrowed from industrial manufacturing that applies a polymer ink layer directly to the coin surface to achieve photorealistic color. Perth adopted it here precisely because conventional colorization methods couldn't render the Husky's coat with sufficient tonal depth. The process remains delicate; stored improperly, the printed layer can lift or crack at the edges.
