| Reverse description | The reverse employs a matching bi-level format. The outer ring displays the heraldic badges of the six Australian states and the Northern Territory, with the badge of South Australia rendered in applied colour. The central inner dump bears a pad-printed polychrome representation of Sturt's Desert Pea (Swainsona formosa), the floral emblem of South Australia. The legends around the ring identify each jurisdiction and record the centenary commemorative inscription CENTENARY OF FEDERATION 1901-2001, with the Perth Mint's P mintmark at the base. |
