Reverse description The reverse depicts a common loon (Gavia immer) rendered in full applied colour, shown in left-facing profile floating serenely on a calm blue lake. The bird's distinctive black-and-white checkered plumage, iridescent dark head, red eye, and white breast patch are faithfully reproduced in vivid polychrome enamel. In the left background, a small rocky island crowned with evergreen conifers forms a quintessentially Canadian landscape vignette. The engraver's initials RRC appear to the right of the central design. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, with DOLLAR along the lower, and the date 2019 positioned at the base of the central motif, all separated by a uniform beaded border.
