Reverse description A vibrant pad-printed Ulysses butterfly (Papilio ulysses) is depicted in full dorsal view at centre, its iridescent blue and black wings spread wide across the field. To the lower left, a cluster of flowers in raised relief provides a naturalistic habitat setting, while to the right a detailed branch with foliage and a caterpillar illustrates the life cycle of the species. The denomination numeral 1 appears in the lower centre field with the legend DOLLAR inscribed immediately below. A small mint mark is present in the lower right field.
