Reverse description The reverse evokes the historic 1813 Holey Dollar and Dump, the first coins produced for colonial New South Wales. The outer annular zone, referencing the Holey Dollar, bears the partial Spanish colonial legend HISPAN·ET IND·REX·M·8R·T·H·C arranged around its circumference. The inner circular plug, representing the Dump, displays a Tudor crown at centre, encircled by the legend NEW SOUTH WALES and the date 1813 within a beaded border, with a laurel branch ornament below. The entire design features a deeply mirrored proof field contrasting with frosted relief devices.
