| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicting the monarch as a right-facing draped bust wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend NEW ZEALAND ELIZABETH II curves along the upper periphery, with the date 2014 inscribed in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials IRB appear truncated beneath the portrait.
