| Mintage | 1999 P100 - BU - Australia Square Penny Privy - 4,000 |
| Additional information |
The Square Penny privy mark on this Kookaburra dollar references one of Australia's most historically significant colonial coins — the holey dollar's lesser-known companion piece, the dump, is often cited, but the square penny itself was a privately minted token issued during the acute copper shortage of the early colonial period. Perth Mint has used privy marks on the Kookaburra series since 1992 to drive collector interest across annual releases, effectively creating sub-varieties within each year's issue without altering the primary design.
The 1999 release is notable as one of the final Kookaburra dollars struck before the turn of the millennium prompted a wave of commemorative overprints.
