| Obverse description | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting the Queen in right-facing profile with an elaborate coiffure adorned with a tiara. A beaded border encircles the design, and the engraver's initials 'IRB' appear discreetly below the portrait's truncation. The legend 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '1 DOLLAR' is inscribed along the lower rim. |
