Reverse description A highly detailed high-relief effigy of a laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is depicted perched upon a eucalyptus branch facing left, with its distinctive heavy bill, streaked plumage, and sturdy feet rendered in fine detail. Eucalyptus leaves appear to either side of the branch. The inscriptions AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA appear in the lower field, with the date and fineness statement 2003 1 OZ. 999 SILVER inscribed below. A beaded border frames the entire design.
