The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left rim and 'AUSTRALIA' along the upper right, with the date below on the right and the denomination '1 DOLLAR' inscribed along the lower rim. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation of the neck. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a smooth field.
