Reverse description A kangaroo is depicted bending forward to drink from a still body of water, its reflection rendered in meticulous detail across the lower half of the field, creating a striking mirror-image composition designed by Horst Hahne. The landscape background features a subtle suggestion of arid Australian terrain extending across the mid-ground. The inscription 1 OUNCE FINE SILVER appears in the left field at mid-height, while the denomination ONE DOLLAR is rendered in bold lettering along the lower arc of the coin. The Canberra mintmark C is positioned in the upper left field, and the engraver's initials HH appear discreetly in the right field.
