Reverse description The upper portion of the reverse features a detailed architectural rendering of Old Parliament House in Canberra, depicted in a classical horizontal facade with flanking wings, rooftop statuary, and surrounding trees, set against a mirror-polished field. Centered in the lower half of the design is a faithful reproduction of the 1927 Australian commemorative florin, struck to mark the opening of Parliament House, displaying its ornate cartouche and the inscriptions 'PARLIAMENT HOUSE AUSTRALIA' and 'ONE FLORIN' surrounding the date '1927'. The curved legend 'OLD PARLIAMENT HOUSE 1927-1997' arcs across the middle field, flanked by the engraver's initials 'HH' to the right. The denomination '1 DOLLAR' appears in large bold lettering along the lower rim, and the design is enclosed within a beaded inner border.
