Obverse description The obverse features the first and youngest effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by sculptor Mary Gillick, depicted in right-facing profile bust with hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the nape. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with delicate detailing on the hair and drapery at the shoulder. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left periphery, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2021 continuing along the right and lower right rim. The engraver's initials MG appear below the truncation of the bust.
