Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in three-quarter view occupies the right portion of the note, set against a multicolour guilloche underprint in pale green, pink, and yellow tones. The Fijian coat of arms with its two warrior supporters and motto ribbon is centrally placed, flanked by ornate lathe-work borders at top and bottom incorporating traditional tapa-cloth geometric motifs. A ceremonial tabua (whale's tooth on cord) vignette appears to the right of the portrait, with the denomination numeral $1 in the upper-left corner.
