Reverse description A large, finely detailed conch shell (Strombus gigas) is rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, oriented diagonally with its spired apex uppermost. Flanking the shell on either side are symmetrical sprays of seaweed or coral vegetation, with a small fish depicted near the upper left. The entire central motif is enclosed within a three-quarter beaded inner circle. The denomination legend ONE DOLLAR arcs along the upper periphery outside the beaded circle, and the Franklin Mint mark appears at the base of the design.
