| Obverse description | Draped bust of Dolley Madison facing slightly left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curled hair, occupies the central field. Flanking the effigy are blooming Cape Jasmine roses and foliage, while a domed rotunda structure representing Montpelier appears in the middle ground to the right. The legend LIBERTY arcs along the upper rim, with IN GOD WE TRUST inscribed to the left of the portrait. The name DOLLEY MADISON and the date 1999 appear in the right field, with the T&Co. privy mark visible at lower right. |
