| Obverse description | The central device displays the coat of arms of Fiji, featuring a quartered shield bearing motifs of sugar cane, a coconut palm, a dove with an olive branch, and a banana bushel. The shield is surmounted by a passant lion clutching a cocoa pod, and topped by a traditional Fijian outrigger canoe. The shield is supported on either side by Fijian warrior figures in traditional dress.
