| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of Fiji centrally in the field, supported by two Fijian warriors in traditional dress, one holding a spear, flanking the quartered shield which bears a British lion in the chief, a sugarcane plant, a coconut palm, a dove of peace, and a cocoanut shell in the quarters, with a British sailing vessel in the upper portion of the shield; a scroll beneath the arms carries the national motto 'Rerevaka na Kalou ka Doka na Tui'. The legend 'FIJI 2019' arcs across the upper field, while '1 DOLLAR' appears prominently along the lower rim.
