| Obverse description | Tribute effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile occupies the upper field, rendered in fine relief with a tiara crown. The antiqued field features a bold engine-turned guilloche border studded with raised spherical bosses arranged in a concentric ring. At the centre, a freely rotating gold-plated three-dimensional rabbit charm is mounted on a pivot, constituting the principal decorative element of the design. The Lunar series targeting Chinese diaspora collectors has been a consistent revenue mechanism for several Pacific microstates since the early 2000s, with Tuvalu entering the space to compete directly with Australian and Canadian sovereign issues.
The .9999 fineness puts this above the old four-nines threshold that Perth adopted as a marketing differentiator from the Royal Canadian Mint's Maple Leaf program in the 1980s.
