| Obverse description | The obverse features a right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the design by Martin Jennings, set within a circular medallion at the top of the field. Surrounding the central inlaid gold-tone rotating horse figurine is a broad annular border decorated with a fine guilloche or dot-matrix textured pattern and a ring of evenly spaced circular bosses, imparting a deeply antiqued appearance. The legend 'TUVALU KING CHARLES III' arcs along the lower portion of the border, while '1 DOLLAR' appears at the left and '1oz 9999 Ag' at the right, all in raised Latin lettering. The designer's initials 'MJ' appear discreetly in the field. The antiqued finish lends the piece a pronounced sculptural contrast between the darkened silver ground and the polished gold-tone inlay at centre. |

Perth Mint has produced lunar-themed bullion for Tuvalu under licensing arrangements since the early 2000s, with the island nation's nominal sovereignty providing the legal framework for coin issuance while Perth handles all production and distribution. The Horse series within the broader lunar program draws on the Chinese zodiac calendar, which places 2026 as a Year of the Horse — the seventh sign in the twelve-year cycle.
Charles III's effigy appears here as part of the post-Proclamation transition following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, with Perth Mint progressively updating royal portraits across its entire Tuvalu product range.
