Reverse description The central field depicts a large, open-mouthed tiger shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) in full-color application, rendered with naturalistic detail showing its characteristic striped flanks and rows of serrated teeth, swimming dynamically toward the viewer against a blue-toned underwater background. A second, smaller tiger shark appears in uncolored relief at center right, while a third shark is depicted in dark silhouette near the upper field. The entire composition is framed by a sculpted border of stylized shark teeth. The inscription AUSTRALIA'S TIGER SHARK appears in bold lettering to the right of the central figure.

Additional information

Tuvalu's arrangement with the Perth Mint has produced dozens of wildlife-themed silver dollars since the early 2000s, most issued under legal tender authority but with no realistic expectation of circulation in a nation of roughly 11,000 people. The tiger shark issues sit firmly within this collector-market model — face value is nominal, sovereignty is real, and the Perth Mint handles production and distribution entirely.

KM#724 is one of the later entries in this ongoing program, now issued under Charles III following the 2022 accession.
