Reverse description The reverse presents a full polychrome colour depiction of the closed Renaissance Egg resting on its ornate gilt and enamel stand, set against a black field featuring a cartographic grid pattern rendered in mirror-like silver. The egg's exterior is covered with a cream guilloche enamel surface overlaid with a diamond-pattern lattice set with floral motifs and gemstones at each intersection, bordered by a broad equatorial band of red enamel acanthus scrollwork accented in blue and white enamel. Two gilt griffin-form mounts are visible at the sides, and the foot of the egg rests on a foliate base of alternating green and white enamel petals. At the lower portion of the field, a red enamel cartouche bearing the gilt numerals '1894' identifies the year of the egg's creation. The legend 'Fabergé Eggs' is inscribed in decorative script across the upper field.
