Part of the Perth Mint's ongoing collaboration with the Vatican Museums, this release draws on the Sistine Chapel ceiling painted between 1508 and 1512 — a commission Michelangelo famously resisted, preferring sculpture to fresco. The Vatican Museums partnership has produced a steady stream of Perth Mint issues in recent years, making individual releases within the series relatively easy to acquire at issue price.
