| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue is depicted centrally, comprising a circular escutcheon bearing a stylised tropical plant motif, encircled by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a royal crown. Two crossed arrows appear beneath the seal on a ribbon scroll bearing the Niuean motto legends. The date 2026 is divided to either side of the central device, flanked by the wreath. The legend NIUE arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination and fineness inscription ONE DOLLAR - 1OZ .999 AG curves along the lower rim, all within a beaded border. |

Niue has operated as a reliable vehicle for novelty bullion issues since the 1990s, its status as a New Zealand realm territory providing the legal framework to issue coins that circulate nowhere and are never intended to. The Green Tail designation almost certainly distinguishes this from a parallel release in the same series — color variants sold as separate collectibles to drive multiple purchases from the same buyer.
Charles III's effigy began appearing on Commonwealth realm coinage following the Queen's death in September 2022, with most mints transitioning dies through 2023 and 2024.
