Part of the long-running Perth Mint "James Bond" licensing program, this issue falls within a series that began attracting serious collector attention after early releases appreciated sharply on the secondary market. Tuvalu has no meaningful connection to Bond mythology — the territory functions here purely as a issuing authority of convenience, a role Pacific microstates have filled for Perth Mint bullion and numismatic programs for decades.
The .9999 fineness is notably purer than the .999 standard common to most silver bullion issues in this program's earlier years.
