| Reverse description | Central design reproduces the medieval Coat of Arms of Riga, depicting a fortified city gate flanked by two towers, each surmounted by a cross pattée, with two crossed keys above the gateway arch — traditional symbols of the city of Riga derived from its historic civic seal. A small rose or floral ornament appears within the arch of the gateway. The entire composition is surrounded by a beaded inner border, outside of which runs the Gothic-style circular legend SIGILLUM CIVITATIS RIGENSIS with a cross motif serving as a word separator, faithfully reproducing the appearance of a medieval wax seal. The background field within the legend border is treated with a fine granular or matted texture, accentuating the raised heraldic elements. |
