Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III after the portrait by Dan Thorne, centered within an ornate scrollwork cartouche. Surrounding the central portrait, the full cycle of twelve Chinese zodiac animals is depicted in high relief, arranged in a ring around the cartouche, with the Horse prominently positioned at the apex. The circular legend reads CHARLES III · AUSTRALIA 2026 along the upper arc, with 1 DOLLAR along the lower arc, separated by dot stops. The engraver's initials DT appear in small capitals below the portrait in the lower field.

Reverse description A dynamic, high-relief depiction of a galloping horse dominates the field, shown in full stride with mane and tail streaming behind in vigorous motion. Graceful ginkgo leaf branches with pendant fan-shaped foliage frame the composition on both sides and along the lower arc, evoking traditional East Asian artistic motifs. To the lower left, the Chinese character 馬 (horse) is rendered in bold relief alongside the Latin inscription YEAR OF THE HORSE arranged vertically. The purity and weight designation 1 oz .999 Ag appears in the lower portion of the field, with the engraver's initials BS at lower right.
