Reverse description Central design features a stylised Swimming Pool birthday cake rendered in high relief, depicting a round layered cake decorated with the form of a backyard swimming pool complete with tiny figurines of children swimming within it. A beach umbrella rises from the upper left of the cake, and a pool ladder is positioned at the lower right. A single lit birthday candle appears to the left of the cake. Decorative party streamers and small dot motifs surround the design in the field. The numeral 1 and the word DOLLAR appear to the left, while the legend SWIMMING POOL curves along the lower right periphery. The Royal Australian Mint's mintmark appears in the field.

Additional information

The "Swimming Pool" dollar is part of the RAM's ongoing coloured circulation strike program, where standard planchets receive a spot of colour applied after striking — a technique the mint has used since the late 1990s to distinguish commemorative issues without altering the coin's legal tender status or composition. Charles III's first portrait for Australian coinage, sculpted by King's official effigy artist Martin Jennings, entered circulation in 2023, making 2025 issues among the earliest releases under the new obverse.
