| Additional information |
Issued under the Royal Australian Mint's ongoing licensing program for cultural properties, this coin is part of a broader push to place the animated series Bluey — produced by Ludo Studio in Brisbane and first broadcast on ABC Kids in 2018 — onto circulating currency. The pad-printing process applied over the aluminium bronze blank allows for the colored design without altering the substrate, a technique the RAM has used extensively for commemorative dollar issues since the early 2000s.
Coins from this program enter general circulation but rarely stay there.
