Australia's "Choo Choo Train" dollar is part of the Royal Australian Mint's ongoing push into the children's collectible market, a segment that has grown substantially since the Mint began issuing themed one-dollar coins in the 2000s. Charles III's first effigy on Australian coinage — sculpted by King's official portrait artist Martin Jennings — only received Royal Proclamation approval in late 2023, making 2025 issues among the earliest Australian circulation-format coins to carry it.
