Additional information

The Royal Canadian Air Force traces its formal establishment to April 1, 1924, though Canadian airmen had already fought and died in significant numbers during the First World War under British command — notably with the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. The centennial issue marks a century since that institutional founding.

The RCM assigned catalog reference 244866 to this release, one of several commemorative dollars struck in 2024 under the effigy transition following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022.
