| Obverse description | The central field displays the full coat of arms of Guyana, featuring a shield divided into quarters and supported on either side by jaguars rampant, each holding a pickaxe. Above the shield rises a helmet surmounted by an Amerindian headdress, with two branches of the national plant forming the mantling. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in three segments. The issuer name 'Bank of Guyana' appears in the lower field below the arms, with the date flanked by two pellets at the bottom. The peripheral legend 'OUR PEOPLE - OUR MOST PRECIOUS ASSET' curves along the upper rim in Latin characters. |
